Bodies in Bloom

This workshop is inspired by the season, the unfurling of spring. A season where leaves begin to bud along bare branches, where seeds sprout - spiraling out from under the soil, where flower petals unravel - reaching for the morning sun. In this intensive, we will be playing with all these themes. We will explore moving from our centers outwards, spiraling from the ground up, and finding support through the back space so we can fly. The workshop will weave inspiration from nature with anatomical study and somatic exploration. There will be opportunities for solo improvisation, group improvisation, informative research, touch based practices, movement pathways, and contact improvisation. Our intention is to weave this workshop with nature as much as possible, even potentially having an opportunity to dance outdoors together. Our aim and passion is to explore the body and its potential in movement. We want to offer participants an experiential toolkit to explore their bodies and grow their relationship to movement, their bodies, and the seasons.
